Most manufacturers stipulate that an air conditioning system must be serviced annually to maintain the product warranty. Sparkrite Electrical provides maintenance and repairs for domestic and commercial systems across South East Queensland.
If your indoor unit is leaking down the wall, it is more than likely a blocked drain — usually a straightforward fix. If the system won’t start, check the circuit breaker and the isolator near the outdoor unit first. If both are on, we can attend and trace the fault.
Servicing includes
- Cleaning filters and checking airflow
- Checking refrigerant levels
- Inspecting electrical components
- Clearing condensate drains
- Advice on whether repair or replacement is the better value
If the system is more than eight years old and has not been regularly serviced, replacement is often more economical than repair. A well-maintained domestic split system typically lasts around 10 years.
Clean filters about every three months at home, and monthly in commercial settings. Set summer temperatures between 23–25°C and winter between 18–21°C to save energy.
