What does PV stand for?
PV stands for photovoltaic. This is the technology where solar cells are used to convert sunlight into electricity.
Does temperature affect output?
The amount of electricity a solar panel can generate is reduced as the temperature increases. Solar panels operate best at an ambient temperature up to 25 degrees Celsius. However, if the temperature is higher, the panel’s output declines.
Is hail likely to damage my panels?
No. The panels are tested to withstand hail, testing consists of a 20mm diameter ice ball at 23m/s (82km/hr), directed at 11 impact locations.
Is my house suitable for a solar system install?
Most houses are suitable to have a PV solar power system installed. The exception would be houses with slate or asbestos roofs.
I have trees shading my roof — what effects will this have?
The system will still operate but will have reduced output depending on the degree of shading. When our technician attends to assess and quote your installation (obligation free) for a PV solar power system, they will measure the available roof area, check orientation and tilt, then, using the solmetric Suneye, they will assess solar access and shade and prepare a PV designer report.
My house is two storeys, can a solar system still be installed?
Yes.
Does the solar power system require maintenance?
Your PV solar power system will require some basic maintenance. This includes occasionally cleaning the modules of leaf litter and debris. Our technician will recommend the appropriate maintenance your installation requires.
Who does the installation?
An electrician certified and accredited by the Clean Energy Council to carry out grid-connect installations will provide your solar power system installation.
How long does the installation take?
Depending on the size of the system and the installation site, the installation would normally take four to eight hours.
What is the quality of the inverter, modules, and solar panel mounting system?
We only use top-quality, high-performance, and warrantied products. Please view the warranty and specification sheets.
How long has your business been operating for?
Sparkrite Electrical has been operating since 1991 in southeast Queensland.
How much will I save with a PV solar power system?
The savings will depend on the size of the system, the orientation and tilt of your roof, and the solar access and shading issues relating to your property. Our technician will prepare a free PV designer report that will indicate your energy production and savings.

Yes, we offer payment plans.
